Hey there, my Name is Lisa and I am the director of Gwen.the salon.
I Named the salon after my late Nana Gwyneth, who had a small farm in Nelson where I spent a lot of my childhood. I loved it so much, maybe that's how I ended up on a lifestyle block in North Canterbury. So this is just a little tribute to her.
Gwen is all about rest and relaxation, the perfect place for you to have time-out from ‘busy life’. Leave your stress and tension at the door. Come in, make yourself at home, get pampered and leave feeling on cloud nine.
My mission is to provide first class hairdressing services using clean, cruelty free, sustainable brand NAK, while creating a haven for you to escape the rush of daily life and fully relax and unwind.
I have been in the industry for about 20 years, I could list all my accolades including Finalist for New Zealand colourist of the year 2014, working on multiple international fashion weeks, being a guest artist and educator for a well known haircare brand, countless hair competition awards etc etc, but that doesn't really mean much to you.
All you are probably wanting to know is can I make you feel and look like a million bucks?
I hope so!
My main priority is giving my guests a wonderful relaxing experience, and leave with hair they love. This starts with the consultation, come in and have a chat and you can tell me all about your hair, I will offer my professional opinion and you can decide if you feel like you can trust me with your hair. It can be scary choosing a new hairdresser, so my first appointment with you is always a consultation,so you can meet me and see if i might be the right hairstylist for you.
Most of my clients I have had for 10 years or more, I would love to find some more long term clients, so if you like the sound of what i can offer, let's chat and see if we're a fit.
In my spare time I love baking, cooking, I'm obsessed with my animals-3 Persian cats and 8 alpacas who continuously entertain me, I love music, having a wine or 2 with friends, and enjoying the peace,quiet of rural living.
